Back from vacation that was way too short, and though wonderful, dominated by the zombie flu that has haunted the castle for the past month and a HALF. Both the CEO and the VeePee seem to be round the bend and well past this incredibly agitating virus. The CTO? Well, let's just say, I'm certainly better than I was on vacation. And better than the weeks leading up to it. But not quite at 100%. Jet lag is part of the problem. The last dregs are the other. Not enough laughter, too much stress already. And there was hope. The return from the foray out to the East Coast was the most wonderful ever. Imagine: sparkling clean castle, dinner prepared, and VeePee attended to as soon as we stepped foot in the house. All that was left to do? Take a longgggg shower, and hit the hay. Best Tuesday ever. Seriously. Wednesday? The long standing date to go see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. Yay. Great dinner, and even better flick! Then, reality set in, and back to the salt mines it was. The weekend offered some minor reprieve.. as Diamond Creek had their 'Decades of Rarities' tasting event yesterday. So that plus a day of good eating set a nice tone. And then we figured out that the stupid/expensive sunglasses have been misplaced. Somewhere up in Napa. Crap. Can I just please crawl under the covers, put my head on a super cooled pillow, and ignore the world at large for a bit? Nope. Mining calls. Lots to get through this week. Questions to answer, status to compile, things to evaluate. And some physical activity has to be squeezed in. Aannd the to do list has to be whittled down. Oh and don't forget the usual weekly castle cleaning. Sigh. No rest for the wicked. There are days I wonder how it will be with a second VeePee added to the mix. Having to herd one, and retrain a new addition? Recipe for more grey hair for sure, but also a motivator for being even more super efficient with time. But as much as the prospect frightens, it entices as well. Adding to the tribe has been a wonderous and happy and difficult challenge that neither the CEO or I would trade for millions of gold ducats. There simply is no other experience like it. And it's awesome. And you know what they say, 'that which does not kill you, only makes you stronger'. Hee hee.
On a positive note, once we get through the toil of the week, here is what we'll be imbibing on Saturday:
And just where will we be enjoying such wonderful elixirs?
Why I'm glad you ask, here of course:
(that would be Diamond Creek Vineyard/Ranch). Yyyyyiipppeeee.
Now Universe? PLEASE bring back my stupid sunglasses? Please?
