Ooooo.
Pretty color sorted chocolates.
Pantone in foodstuffs is an interesting concept, and the guess is that hue doesn't contribute to the level of deliciousness (though to be sure, an actual tasting will have to be conducted). That is of course, after a pass through the pastry and meat product sampling.
The week is off to a fast start, which is a good thing. Missing the CEO and VeePee so much that the heart is about to break into a million pieces. Although the baggage was pushed out the front door of the castle with staff providing stern advice to 'enjoy', finding that frequency has been tough. Even in light of trying to see this trip as a 'salve for the soul' (time to stock up on uninterrupted sleep and nourish the creative/intellect for a bit), doesn't help. The images of a much loved CEO and the cutest VeePee on the planet stare back from every store window, every random puddle. Listening to the cries of Parisian children, or protests from lovely little French babies just makes the heart raw (pass the salt please?) I miss my tribe. One meeting down, one more to go. And then some running around to accumulate goodies to bring back home. And Sunday? Hopping on a tin dragon for 11 hours to go back to the castle. And hugs. And fuzzy four legged staff demanding kibble or attention.
Last night being the first in Paris was good (dinner at Poulet in the Pot or something-or-other, fabulous wine and profiteroles) and bad (falling asleep at midnight, being woken up by one of your employees accidentally at 3am, and then not being able to get back to sleep when you have to be up at 6am to make it to a 9am meeting via bus/train and metro). Pushing through a second day on fumes and strong french coffee is making my stamina bruised. Deep purple bruises that need some ibuprofen and ice. Hoping that tonight will find me passing out for a solid 8 so tomorrow I feel human. If nothing else, it would be good to deliver a solid presentation without keeling over or acting like a space cadet. Sleep. Precious, awesome sleep. I can haz some? We'z needs it. Badly.
