It has been a completely crazy two weeks. Between preparing for our hardwood floor remodel, the actual event, and cleanup, it has felt like being on a different planet. Our board member smiles because he has spent that 2 weeks just watching staff go through all of this insanity, from the comfort of his perch, fresh water and kibble. Jerk. (just kidding). Well, we are finally done, and though slogging through the home stretch had us feeling as though 'never again' we retract our sentiments. Yes again. The home office calls for new hardwood floors. And there are 2 bathrooms waiting for upgrades/remodel. We just have to get it all on the calendar. First up however is some tweaking of the Binkomonster kitchens. This wonderful device arrives this week on Thursday. Finally. A truly kick-butt range on which to do some wok magic. And souffle creation. Our collective palates salivate. The new kitchen faucet arrives next week too, and after the install, we are done for the time being (well, our energies being focused on bathroom remodel activities...) As tired as we are, we love the Binko castle that much more every day. Such a sanctuary. And getting that much closer to complete perfection. Surround sound speakers are on the plan to install in the living room (the new HD tv is already up), and the next few weeks should also see the breakfast bar extended to a truly usable length. Keeping the dust to a manageable level is the challenge, but the end goal is very clear and visible. And we are loving the intermediate milestones. It hasn't all been work though. There have been breaks for not only an anniversary, but a birthday too. The CEO has been spoiling the CTO completely rotten. And she is very happy about it. (You will hear *no* complaints) The board members are in good health despite one incident of urinary blockage (involving a 1 day hospital stay and 2 weeks worth of strife at home base), and one incident of almost-severed nail (CTO in his haste to get sub-flooring into the house, opened a door forgetting mirror was somewhat attached = late night emergency vet visit, 2 technicians to get the bandage on, and *another* 5 days of tribe warfare at Binko Central). Ah life, it just gets better every day. A quick visual summary of our activities here for all of our faithful fans. Enjoy.
