Binkomonster!

The BubbleMonger. And the Terrorist Attack.

The hot weather is upon us, and with it, chaos. Mirroring some of the events happening on the world-stage this week (albeit in a *very* minor fashion), there have been terrorist strikes on the Binkomonster castle. Specifically, on the bathroom.
We give you "Exhibit A". And mind you, it was in much poorer shape when first found. Showing much more unrolled paper, and teethmarks, and shredding, we rushed this poor roll of tp into intensive care. It is now recovered, in stable condition and resting comfortably on the roll dispenser (though a bit lighter). There have also been minor raids made on trays of food left unattended on the Binko-Bistro countertops. The evening previous to the toilet paper incident, there were potato wedges found half eaten and deposited at the doorstep of the Binko-bedrooms. We've attempted to negotiate with the suspected terrorists (soft food and affection being the tokens offered), but it seems to be of no avail.
We believe that this is the primary suspect and ring-leader:
He goes by the moniker 'Osama Bin Boo-Boo', and it is further believed that he is the mastermind behind the Al-Cat-A group. While past history demonstrates senseless violence to plant and furniture matter here at Binkomonster, and random exercise of bodily fluids at innappropriate locations, there have been no kidnappings to date. Patrols are being instituted, along with high security and vigilance measures. If you see this suspect, please exercise extreme caution and alert the authorities at Binkomonster immediately.
In other, more happier news, we've upgraded the $10 Target bubble machine to a much more powerful solution. Powered by eeelektricity, and capable of generating ten THOUSAND bubbles a minute, it's a nice way to fill up the entire street with bubbles and make all the neighbors go nuts. Hee. Of course, this does lead us to consider adding a second generator (might as well go completely over the top), so we'll put it on the list and maybe by summer's end....
Oh and while on our quest for the biggest, most powerful bubble generator in the land, we stumbled upon this. And laughed our asses off.

It was a dark and stormy night.

Yes. We read our fair share of Peanuts comics back in the day. And at least half of that infamous phrase is applicable to this evening. It may not quite be 'stormy', but it is dark. Our normally lovely view up into Twin Peaks is obscured by some pretty thick fog (not a single light is visible!) The view towards the Bay Bridge is similarly 'frogged' in. Meh. We have our glass of vino, and dinner is ready and waiting for the CEO to arrive so we can begin the nightly board meeting. For those of our fans who are interested in what we are eating tonight: Hot and Sour soup with mushrooms and shrimp, Lentil Samhar Stew with chicken and coconut rice, and some very tasty Madelines with homemade strawberry ice cream.
The castle patio underwent some mild renovation today. Plants were moved, tables and chairs shifted. All so that we could have a clear and unobstructed view of the hills while being able to rest comfortably on the bench with pillows (and not get our eyeballs poked out by the cute little spiky plant). It works.
In other news, we've signed up for this. And we spent the day busily putting in our time for *the man*, but with the bonus of being able to have a tribe member for cuddling. Our deepest sympathies go out to all of the victims of this tragedy. Simply put, terrorists suck a**. And so do serious political tensions.

Oh and by the way?

We no longer read this. Or that. And, pray tell, why?
1. Uninteresting
2. We don't like ads
(Binkomonster just doesn't like providing $$ to others via our eyeballs)
3. We're looking for channels that are far less whingy
So. We'll just keep on walking past these soapboxes.

We do however peek at this.  She's funny, and we like her style, emotion, and parody-skills.  We very much like her (and are secretly envious, but only in a good way).  We've completely striken this, and this, and that, and oh here this from our viewing. In short summary: it's the fruit loop, the bad loaded-with-brightly-colored-carcinogenic sugar, the skanky-avoid-looking-or-sear-your-corneas, and the truly pointless.  And besides, visiting these is now on our no-no list.

We however, just cannot get enough of these two. Simply. Hilarious.

Meow Rowr Rowr and a Bottle of Vino

You'll excuse the bad play on an old favorite. But if the shoe fits, the shoe fetishists here at Binkomonster certainly feel compelled to wear it. We were inspired by our recent party forays and an outing last night to see the latest installment of Pirates of the Caribbean. A good time was had by all, and continues to be had (if only the nagging bout of depression would keep at bay). As you can see in the lovely camera-phone quality image, we've been continuing to sample alcoholic grape juice in worrisome quantities. No, we didn't drink them *ALL*, but we did get to sample three, or four, er... actually, well ok, let's just say more than 5, less than 100. And apart from the constant immolation of our collective livers, July 4th was actually quiet. Well, now come to think of it, until the evening. When we lit off the cracking fireworks. Pink Diamonds, Purple Hearts, Blue Horseshoes, Green clovers... eh, waitaminit, that's the stupid Lucky Charms cereal isn't it? Sigh, stay focused, stayyyyyy... After we had roused all of our castle neighbors and their children, pyrotechnic efforts continued with the burning of respective fingers via sparklers (fun!). And then there were the popper thangs. Yea. There is still paper confetti in eyeball searing colors glued to the trees on the street. Sowing chaos is fun. Sigh. We miss college. And you know, the *more* we continue to think about that nice long weekend, the more we come to the realization that er, well, it actually wasn't that quiet. Saturday started off with a poker game, martinis, and devolved into a fit of laughter that incapacitated the CTO. You could almost, ALMOST (but not quite) say that it was a relief to get back to *the man* on Wednesday if only to suspend gin intake for 8 hours, which resumed promptly after spending the day in SiliValleyHell. And this past weekend? We've been good do-bees. The castle is in order, we've helped a friend move into another castle down in Brisbane (along with her own tribe), and we've made progress on the checklist! The hair isn't platinum white yet, but we're signed up for the classes, we've been hitting the gym FAR more regularly (this is helping!), and we're getting ready to go windsurfing soon....
