As you may/may not be able to ascertain from the post header, we've been listening to some Beastie Boys lately. And as much as I understand that phrase within the context of the wonderful tune from whence it came, in less sane moments, it does make one ponder. Keep what raw? Oysters? Hamburger meat? Vegetables? Maybe it's one of those solution-left-to-the-discretion/imagination-of-user things.
It has been a busy few weeks.
The start of April saw us at Petchitecture . The catering? Tasty. The bar (and waitstaff carrying assorted trays of incredibly tasty cocktails)? Even tastier. And the venue was pretty swell too.
Our plan to win a live auction lot this year was met with success. After a fierce bidding war, the Binkomonster crew are now the proud owners of a one-of-a-kind 'kat konsole' (hey, their spelling not mine). The tribe have fallen in love with their new structure. Surprisingly, they've taken a very zen approach to the enjoyment. Seems that they have done some time slicing. Everybody gets a turn, and most importantly, everyone gets their chance to enjoy. Our huge thanks go out to the team over at mbh architects (especially Vivian) who designed this wonderful piece. Nothing but the best karma to all of you for making our residents so happy!
Other events include our new writing gig. Yep. In addition to shepherding this literary masterpiece, we've decided to contribute some 1s and 0s to another worthwhile publication, critical cloud.
Though don't be fooled. It is yet another excuse for us to continue to soak our collective livers in all manner of alchoholic refreshment. All under the guise of doing 'research' (yeah, that's it).
By the way, if you've been out on the lovely streets of San Fran (and I'm sure elsewhere lately), have you noticed Pepsi's new billboard campaign? Sigh. Where to begin?
10 minute budget job. Or perhaps there was some nepotistic hiring involved. The new marketing intern (son/daughter/cousin/nephew of CEO/VP [insert muckety muck here]) comes up with their very first advertising campaign! All sanity in Marketing is checked at the door and everyone is too scared or horrified to stop this abomination. People, I know first graders who would be capable of assembling this print ad in MS paint. In less than half an hour. Please don't tell me this took more than 2 minutes to brainstorm. I suppose it only reaffirms my long held suspicions about the 'advertising/marketing' field.
In other laments... seems we have a new pope. The violence in Iraq continues. Ann Coulter makes the cover of Time (and Lucienne Goldberg snarks about the photo). I just... I, oh never mind.
[insert highly vitriolic comment here]
Time to slither off and go do some of that research...
