So we came back, in comfy seats again for 6 hours. To a house that had been ruled over by the tribe for 4 days. Vacation (and Chinese New Year) are over, back to the grind, back to improv in the kitchen (no more Nobu). Sigh. Ah well, vacations have to come to an end at some point. The week ended up rather nicely. Time spent mostly at home with family, with a few outings to the city. Saturday night = cocktails at swanky greek restaurant Thalassa (yes, very nice drinks they were too). Had some sort of apple martini that used green apple puree as a base.
Works rather well (which is not surprising as babbo uses it for their bellini, and that tastes great too).
This was followed by a dinner at Nobu (sushi bar, which was just fine considering we didn't think ahead to make reservations). Woo! Freshhhhhh. Good sushi, good cocktails (mmmm... fig martini, yum). No celebrities spotted, but then we weren't really looking and unless you count the officers of Binkomonster... Hee. Sunday was just packing and flying back to SF (albeit in upgraded seats). Yay.
The castle was still standing when we arrived, in fact in very good shape (not too much damage inflicted by the tribe). With one exception. Our new pucci chair. Lets just say it doesn't look quite so new anymore.
Darn cats. But to recap, Chinese New Year was nice. Lots of activity in Flushing and of course in Chinatown.
(kinda cool dragon observed at one of the restaurants we visited)
Well, it's Tuesday, which means, 3 more days until a Martini bender. Yep.
